College Football grid questions
What conditions show up on the college football grid?
Schools lead — the programs a player suited up for — and then the position played, the decade played in, and the game’s named honours: the Heisman, the Maxwell, the Walter Camp and the Davey O’Brien among them, plus Consensus All-American selection.
Which career totals appear?
College career totals the record counts: passing yards and touchdown passes, receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, rushing yards and touchdowns, sacks and tackles, each at a round threshold.
Does a pro career count?
No. Every condition is about the college years: a school, a position, a college honour or a college total. What came after belongs to a different grid.
Which football players turn up on the college football grid?
Everyone in the recorded college pool, which is much wider than the NFL’s — most college careers never became professional ones, and those players are exactly what makes a school square interesting. A name still has to meet both conditions to count.
Are positions used?
Heavily — after the schools themselves, the position is the most common condition on this board. It is the position on record for the college career, so a player who moved positions afterwards is asked about as the player he was on Saturdays.
Is there a draft or a Hall of Fame square?
No. There is no draft round, no professional honour and no Hall of Fame condition here, because each would be asking about a career this board does not cover. What is left is the school, the position, the era, the college honours and the college totals.
Which leagues besides college football have a grid?
Nine more: college basketball, the WNBA, the AFL, soccer, cricket, the NHL, the NFL, MLB and the NBA. More college football games: CFB Wordle, College Football Connections, Build a College Football Player and CFB Career Simulator. College Football Trivia Quiz asks three questions a day.
